Water Quality Monitoring Assistant
Job Type: Seasonal - approximately 60 hrs, requires early mornings
Salary: stipend expected to be between $1,000 and $1,500
Time Period: 1 May - 31 Oct 2024
Report to: Project Coordinator
Location: Fishers Island, NY
Deadline: Applications are accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis.

The Water Quality Monitoring Assistant will work closely with the FISM Project Coordinator to measure water quality parameters bi-weekly in West Harbor, Fishers Island.
Responsibilities:
Conduct pre- and post-monitoring calibrations
Assist in bi-weekly sampling of West Harbor and three macrophyte surveys.
Enter/ validate data from collections.
Prepare chlorophyll samples for shipment.

Required:
A personal commitment to conserving and restoring marine and coastal natural resources.
Knowledge or interest in water quality monitoring.
Ability to work independently
Interest in pursuing a career in a related field.
Desirable:
Experience in water quality monitoring protocol
Valid Boating License
Lifeguard Certification
First Aid and CPR Certification.
